Many have seen Crossroads Treasures in Canton, however the story behind this building is much deeper than simply a thrift store. Crossroads Ministry is a safe haven for women suffering from addictions, women that have been involved with the Mississippi Department of Corrections, or the Mississippi Judicial system. The ministry provides transition living and a program to successfully re-introduce them back into being productive citizens.

“MT Listens is a new initiative to connect with community leaders and reach people we might not otherwise be able to reach. By connecting and listening, we can uncover stories that Mississippians want and need to live more fulfilled and informed lives,” said Lauchlin Fields, Mississippi Today’s Audience Development Director.

Being a new teacher is difficult. Being a new teacher during a pandemic can be terrifying. Luckily, Canton Public School District (CPSD) created a Mentor Program for new teachers to ensure they feel prepared, supported, and comfortable from their first day of school to their last. 

Dakota Jordan is ready to fulfill one of his childhood dreams, and that is playing in the Annual Perfect Game All-American Classic. 

Collaboration, community, and being led by the Lord are what drive Rev. James Allen of Harvest Hope Christian Center, Angela Carson with Pine Grove Association, and Sharon Campbell with Sharon Campbell Solution Group to create a better Canton. 

Stanford Beasley was awarded a Humanitarian Award by the Canton Board of Alderman for outstanding service and leadership that has helped to improve the city of Canton over the years.

The Country Club of Canton recently hosted artist Alison Martin for a Ladies Paint Night.
