It’s a CA parking lot party

With a new year comes new traditions, and this year’s Canton Academy (CA) seniors are ensuring they make their mark. After years of wishing, hoping, and dreaming, the class of 2022 was approved to paint their parking spots. By paying a fee, students raised funds for the CA Student Council. Supporting a local business, all seniors purchased their paint from Barnett Phillips Lumber. The process began with choosing a design that expressed that senior’s personality, drawing it with chalk on the space, and then mixing the paint with sand so the asphalt did not become slippery. The parking lot at CA is now decorated with smiley faces, ducks, splatter paint, rainbows, and even a loaded tea.
