The Holmes Community College Ridgeland Campus held a Pinning Ceremony for the Surgical Technology Class of 2021 on June 24 in the McGowan Workforce Training Center. Five students were honored.

MVLP to Co-Sponsor Free Family Law Clinic in Hinds County 

The Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project (MVLP) is co-sponsoring a free Family Law  Clinic to assist low income Hinds County residents with their legal matters. The clinic is Friday, July  30, 9:00 a.m., at the Hinds County Chancery Court (316 S. President Street, Jackson, MS-3rd Floor).

State Board of Education Sets Policies to Resume In-Person Schooling as Primary Teaching Mode

The Mississippi State Board of Education (SBE) passed two policies that call for all school districts to resume in-person instruction as the primary mode of teaching starting in the 2021-22 school year. The policies set requirements for districts that choose to offer a virtual learning option to individual students and establish standards for virtual learning days.

The Snake Man shares reptile knowledge

Terry Vandeventer, “The Snake Man” shared his Living Reptile Museum with young Canton Library patrons on June 16 as part of Tails and Tales Summer Reading Theme.  Live snakes were presented in a fun and safe manner for all to see.
