Reuben B Myers raises autism awareness

By wearing the color blue for Autism Awareness, young scholars showed support and acceptance.

Special to The Canton News

Students at Reuben B Myers School of Arts and Sciences wore blue to raise awareness for autism during Autism Awareness Month. According to Autism Speaks, in 2023, the CDC reported that approximately one in thirty-six children in the U.S. is diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD), according to 2020 data.

Over the last two decades, extensive research has asked whether there is any link between childhood vaccinations and autism. The CDC says the results of the research are clear: vaccines do not cause autism.
