Madison Auxiliary chalks it up

By Courtney Warren

Beginning a new school year can be a bit nerve-wracking; but, add in a pandemic, masks, and extra hand sanitizer, and it can be downright overwhelming! The Madison County Junior Auxiliary (MCJA) wanted to bring some smiles to the faces behind the masks as students return to school.

The Chalk It Up School Project is part of the many community projects that MCJA creates where the group “spreads cheer to both students and teachers as they return to classrooms. We will visit any school in Madison County who invite us out, and this is just one way to give back to our community,” said Delila Vance of the MCJA PR Committee.

Junior Auxiliary of Madison County, then Junior Auxiliary of Madison-Ridgeland, was chartered by a group of caring, enthusiastic women in 1986 and continues to grow and thrive throughout Madison County. Volunteers work tirelessly throughout the year on a variety of projects that focus on local children and families in need of assistance.
