Lott earns gold medal in SkillsUSA state championship

The SkillsUSA chapters from Holmes Community College’s Goodman and Ridgeland campuses successfully competed in the 2023 SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference.


In the Culinary Arts Division, Ridgeland SkillsUSA student Kennedy Lacey of Canton took home a gold medal in Restaurant Service, and Jacob Lott of Canton won the gold for Job Skills Demonstration A.


Both were recognized during a ceremony at the Hilton Jackson.


Overall, Holmes took home seven awards: six gold medals and one bronze, and every participant placed.


The first-place winners are invited to take part in the Annual National Leader
