High school sophomores Summer Hederman and Hannah Dill recently volunteered for two weeks with MadisonCountians Allied Against Poverty ( MadCAAP) to mentor, teach and assist with an arts and crafts camp for children of MadCAAP clients.

Dill said, “I demonstrated how to make a fun beaded pipe-cleaner butterfly magnet and it was great to see how excited they were to create one. Their smiles made it so much fun to be there. My favorite part was when it was time for me and Summer to leave they all would say ‘Bye, Hannah! Bye, Summer!’”

MadCAAP partners with individuals, churches, businesses and civic groups to meet the varying needs of those who are hungry and thirsty, in need of clothing and safer homes, as well as those who are lonely and in need of emotional support.
