Dr. Kyairra Thomas accepts new role as the instructional specialist at Reuben B. Myers Canton School of Arts and Sciences

Congratulations, Dr. Kyairra Thomas, on your new role as the instructional specialist at Reuben B. Myers Canton School of Arts and Sciences.

Dr. Kyairra Thomas eagerly became an educator for the Canton Public School District in the 2019-2020 school year. She served as the 4th grade Reading teacher and team leader at Jimmie M. Goodloe Elementary, where she was named the 2019-2020 Teacher of the Year. She was promoted to Interventionist for the 2021-2022 school year and is beyond excited to now serve as Instructional Specialist at Reuben B. Myers School of Arts and Sciences.

Her span in education includes teaching multiple subject areas in grades 4th and 5th and 8th grade English/Language Arts. She is privileged to have worked in both traditional and alternative school settings.

Dr. Thomas is a proud 2022 Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership graduate from Belhaven University, where she also received her Master of Arts in Education. Additionally, she graduated from Mississippi College, earning a Specialist in Educational Leadership, and received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Tougaloo College.

She is a member of Greater Bethlehem Temple Church, where she serves as a Sunday school teacher and a member of the baptism committee. Dr. Thomas enjoys reading, journaling, traveling and spending time with her husband, Will, and her sons, Keshun (21) and Kayden (8). She believes that “with God, all things are possible.”
