Canton Academy’s Head Girls Basketball Coach Brandy Hall was recently selected as a 2022 MSAIS All-Star basketball coach.
“I am honored to be named star coach. You know, this year was a challenge, but I knew that going in, and I was up for it! We
faced adversity starting in the preseason all the way through the last game we played. My girls battled every time they stepped on the floor, and I could not be more proud of that.”
“At times, I would question if I was the right one to be leading these girls, and God was quick to remind me that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be. Building individual relationships and making a positive, lasting impact in our players’ lives is what I believe the big picture is all about,” said Hall.
Hall was born and raised in Natchez, Mississippi. She graduated from Trinity Episcopal Day School in 2008 and continued her education in college, where she received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, with a minor in psychology. While pursuing her degree, Coach Hall began her coaching career.
In January of 2009, at the age of 19, Coach Hall became her mother’s junior high and high school girls’ assistant at Adams County Christian School and started coaching her own third- and fourth-grade team. In August of 2013, Coach Hall was named junior high girls head coach. She led this team, which she had coached through elementary school to three undefeated junior high seasons.
In August of 2017, Coach Hall took the head junior high/assistant high school girls coaching position at Centreville Academy, and, in May of 2018, she was named high school girls head coach. In her three years as head coach at Centreville, Coach Hall led her junior high girls to three district championships and her high school girls to a state championship and two overall tournament appearances, advancing to the top eight this past March. Coach Hall was chosen to coach in the MAIS All-Star game in 2019 and 2021 and was named MAIS Coach of the Year in 2020.
