Beta Mu celebrates 50 years as Tri Deltas

The Beta Mu chapter of Delta Delta Delta on the campus of Mississippi State University celebrated their fiftieth birthday with a weekend-long reunion March 3-5.

During the weekend, Tri Delta members visited with sisters, spent time on MSU campus, took pictures with the Bulldogs’ National Championship baseball trophy, heard from Tri Delta’s national president, celebrated 25-year and 50-year alumnae, toured the newly-renovated Tri Delta house, and raised $20,000 for the national philanthropy St. Jude.

Canton’s own Lynn (Thomason) Penn and Lucy (Walker) West were both charter members of the MSU chapter, with Penn serving as Beta Mu’s first president, and Pat (Lutz) White was a member of the first pledge class. During the weekend reunion, all three were initiated into Delta Delta Delta’s Circle Degree.

Canton alumnae presented special guests with handmade pansy-themed oyster shell jewelry holder gifts.
