While many elementary Christmas programs involved singing Christmas carols loudly and off-key for their parents and grandparents, the Canton Academy (CA) elementary students did something a little different this year.
While most parents would agree that off-key can be adorable when you’re under the age of twelve, this year, CA students instead told the story of Christmas kindness.
Delivering a dramatic performance, CA upper elementary students told the story of C.A.K.E., or Christmas Acts of Kindness Experiment, through various scenes of giving and loving other people during the Christmas season.
Students also sang Christmas songs, as well as songs about Christ’s love.
Led by CA Music Director Dell Taylor, the Canton Academy students have learned more about worshipping God through song and dance. It’s not uncommon to walk the halls or sidewalks of CA and hear small voices singing various music selections about Christ’s love for them.
Taylor gave many thanks after the performance to each and every individual that had a hand in making the program successful.
She also added, “I am truly thankful to my precious heavenly Father, who guides my steps and makes a way. When things aren’t going as planned, He sees the intention of my heart and shows me that He is there. I thank Him for the small winks along the way that show up in the 2s and 3s, and for growing me in the middle of it all.”
