Teachers are constantly learning, even though they are the ones leading the classrooms, and the teachers of Canton High School (CHS) are no different. Recently, CHS teachers participated in dyslexia awareness training from the Mississippi Department of Education, presented by Laurie Weatherby and Jayda Brantley.
Teachers learned about dyslexia and teaching strategies for this, as well as for other related disorders. Focusing on cognitive behaviors that may be observed in the classroom, the hope was that teachers left the training better equipped to reach and teach all students and continue inspiring all of their scholars.
