Special to The Canton News
The Canton Public School District is providing multiple opportunities throughout the year to get vaccinated.
CDC Director Rochelle P. Walensky, M.D., M.P.H., endorsed the CDC Advisory Committee on the Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommendation that children 5 to 11 years old be vaccinated against COVID-19 with the Pfizer-BioNTech pediatric vaccine. The CDC has expanded vaccine recommendations to about 28 million children in the United States in this age group and allows providers to begin vaccinating them as soon as possible.
COVID-19 vaccines have undergone – and will continue to undergo – the most intensive safety monitoring in U.S. history.
As a partner of the Canton Public School District, G.A. Carmichael Family Health Clinic is available to assist families in getting their children ages 5-11 vaccinated. Call 601-521-9236 for more information.
The Truly Family Healthcare Clinic has also offered to assist with vaccinations for students, staff and families.
