Canton student pages in Mississippi House

Kirsten Jackson of Canton and Jaidan Handy of Terry, recently served as pages for the Mississippi House Representatives. Pages generally run errands for officials and House staff. 

Jackson, 16, is the daughter of Karondra Jackson-Shalton and Shaun Shalton, and she attends Canton High School.  Handy, 15, is the daughter of Jamila Cross and Darrell Handy, and she attends Terry High School. Both students were sponsored for the week by Tammie Sutton. 

When asked about her experience as a page, Jackson said, “I love getting to serve as a page in the Mississippi House of Representatives and also meeting new people. I can’t wait to come back next year. A big thanks to Tammy Sutton for being the best!”
