Canton Lions say they enjoyed some very interesting programs at the weekly Wednesday meetings in October. The programs included an update of Canton Parks and Recreation from Alvin Davis, an overview of Gluckstadt the Town from Mayor Walter Morrison IV, and an update of the Canton Zoning Commission and the Canton Garden Club’s Upstairs Downtown event from Kathy Hammack.
Lions parked cars as a fundraiser in October at the Chapel of the Cross for the “Day in the Country.” Several Lions participated in numerous Flea Market cleanup projects around town. Lions also donated candy for the City’s Trunk or Treat Halloween event.
The Club meets the first three Wednesdays at the Canton Country Club and, on the fourth Wednesdays, the meetings are held on the square at the Canton Tourism’s Rose Room. Lunches for the fourth Wednesdays are prepared by Marlo’s BBQ. President Moses Thompson initiated this fourth-week change-up to allow members to become better acquainted and to take care of any business items for the month.
