CHS shares strategies with parents

Canton High School leaders held an English II Parent/Student Meeting to share strategies for success on the upcoming MAAP assessment. Educators encouraged parents to motivate their students to pass the state test by:

- Reading nightly,
- Studying vocabulary words,
- Utilizing learning platforms, like IXL
- Taking practice exams for state subject area tests available on the MDE website,
- Practicing writing skills,
- Avoiding chronic absenteeism,
- Using homeroom time for tutoring assistance, and
- Getting sleep at night - not during class time.

Additionally, teachers are available for parent-teacher conferences each school day from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., if parents wish to discuss their concerns.
