Congratulations to D'Vunte Jackson, an outstanding Canton Career Center student selected as the Director for a Day.
To honor his achievements, Samatha Barnett Lofton, the owner of Barnett's Body Shop, awarded Jackson with a $100 gift card.
This outstanding October Student of the Month is a junior Collision Repair student who plans to become a diesel mechanic and one day own his own business. As a young child, D’Vunte loved cars and
wanted to fix them once he dismantled them. His love for automobiles increased after enrolling in the Collision Repair class. He enjoys playing football and meeting new people. Jackson is most inspired by his godfather, Albert Hewitt, because of the life lessons that he has shared with him. D'Vunte says he is honored to receive this gift and to be chosen as an outstanding student.
CCC also salutes Samatha Barnett Lofton, owner of Barnett's Body Shop, and Jan Collins for being supportive community partners.
Jan Collins, the executive director of the Madison County Business League and Foundation, coordinated this event to monthly recognize outstanding students at CCC. Collins will ensure industry representatives provide outstanding students in each Pathway Program an incentive and share information about their professions.
