Calling for donations due to shortage

Mississippi Blood Services is in desperate need of A Positive, A Negative, B Positive, B Negative, AB Positive, O Positive and O Negative donations to support local hospitals. Donations are crucial to saving lives. 

To ensure a smooth and safe donation, donors are asked to:
1. Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
2. Make sure they have eaten within the last four hours before donating. A balanced meal helps prevent reactions and supports a successful donation.
3. Drink plenty of fluids before and after donating. Proper hydration is crucial for reducing potential reactions and ensuring an adequate blood collection.

Mississippi Blood Services’ main location is 115 Tree Street in Flowood. Potential donors can call 601-368-2673 to find a nearby location or to schedule an appointment. Appointments can also be scheduled by visiting MSBlood.com. Walk-ins are welcome.
