Harris to join Canton Academy

Canton Academy recently welcomed Coach Parker Harris to the Panther family. Coach Harris will begin his twenty-fourth year coaching baseball and football, serving at Canton Academy as assistant football coach and assistant baseball (pitching) coach. 

Prior to joining CA, Harris served fifteen years at Jackson Academy in various roles. He has been a head baseball coach for ten years of his career, serving in that role at Oak Hill, Washington School, Heritage Academy and Jackson Academy. Harris has served as assistant baseball coach for fourteen years of his career at Oak Hill, Lamar School and Jackson Academy. He served two years as head football coach at University Christian, assistant varsity football coach (thirteen years) at Oak Hill, Washington, Heritage and JA and was head junior high football coach at JA for nine years. 

Harris is a graduate of Lamar School in Meridian and Mississippi State University. He and his wife, Laura, have one son, Lofton, who will be a senior at Canton Academy in the fall.
