The Hamburger Casserole was one of my late mother, Georgia Branson’s, favorite dishes to prepare. When she was still here with us, everyone wanted a taste of her delicious hamburger casserole. Over the years, I have kept all of her memories and recipes that she passed down to her children, with hopes of one day passing it down to the next generation. The hamburger casserole will be a part of our family tradition for many years to come.
For most of our family gatherings, I usually make time to prepare it, because it is sentimental to us. When in preparation, I often feel like she’s here with me, telling me whether I’ve done something wrong or put too much of a certain ingredient into her dish. Although cooking is not one of my favorite things, it still brings me joy to carry on the legacy of my mother.
