Nelson and Sims earn Canton High School val and sal

Recently, Canton High School’s Caitlyn Nelson and Tyra Sims were named valedictorian and salutatorian of the 2024 graduating class. 

Nelson is Miss Canton High School and said her motto is, “Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard.” “I plan to attend the University of Mississippi in the fall and major in kinesiology. After graduating from Ole Miss, I will attend medical school,” said Nelson. 

Sims, salutatorian, said her motto is, “God’s promises may be delayed, but not denied.” She also said, “I plan to attend Holmes Community College and Texas A&M to major in pre-law.”
