Holmes brings home gold at SkillsUSA state championship

The SkillsUSA chapters from Holmes Community College’s Goodman and Ridgeland campuses successfully competed in the 2024 SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference held in March and April. The winners were recognized during a ceremony on April 4 at the Hilton Jackson.

Overall, Holmes took home fourteen awards: six gold medals, seven silver medals and one bronze.Ridgeland Culinary Arts students boasted Quincy Boles of Canton who won a silver medal in Culinary Arts, Kennedy Lacey, Sr., of Canton, a silver in Restaurant Service.

The SkillsUSA advisors include Bill Fitts, Chef Alexei Harrison, Peter Hindman and Heather Mooney in Ridgeland.
