Special to The Canton News
Canton High School recently announced their ACT 25 and Above Club for 2024.
Awardees included junior Jaleal Davis, junior Phillip Black, sophomores Jamila Luckett, and junior Kynderrick Meeks.
Their banners will be displayed in the hall of Canton High School.
According to Canton High School Principal Dr. Pamela Self, the school’s ACT composite score has grown from 14 to 18. She says the growth can be attributed to several factors, including the ACT calendar, Jumpstart, and Coach Melvin Gillum’s math and science instruction, as well as English teachers who teach both English and reading.
Dr. Self says she is optimistic that, with the school’s current resources and support, scholars will soon score a perfect ACT score of 36.
