The North Madison County Economic Development Council (NMED) recently announced a grant award through the Partnership Grant Program (PGP), with the Federal Homeland Bank (FHLB) of Dallas and the Community Bank of Brandon, Mississippi, to support NMED’s service to the north Madison County community.
FHLB of Dallas provides up to a 3:1 match of members’ contributions to provide a match up to $12,000 per member to promote and strengthen relationships between ommunity-based organizations such as NMED and FHLB members like the Community Bank of Brandon. PGP grants are offered once a year through FHLB Dallas’ member institutions via a lottery system.
In furtherance of their mission to promote the delivery of opportunities and services to strengthen community and support economic development, NMED will use funds to support program activities and opportunities related to retaining, expanding and recruiting community businesses, business professionals and other social, health, job and housing opportunities, to include training sessions and workshops to enhance community awareness and community building.
NMED values the relationship being forged with Community Bank through the Partnership Grant Program with Federal Homeland Bank of Dallas, as well as the service and support of Community Bank’s contact, Hynethia Richards, a Velma Jackson High School graduate.
