Recently, seniors Cooper Lampkin and Anna Claire Mabry were chosen as Canton Academy’s winners for the Heisman High School Scholarship.
“It’s an honor to represent Canton Academy and the city of Canton for my work on the field and in the classroom. I will always be thankful for my time at CA,” said Lampkin.
“I am honored to have been chosen as the Heisman female award winner for Canton Academy. I want to thank my parents, teachers and coaches for instructing, encouraging and guiding me during my high school years in the areas of academics, community service, organizations and sports. I am blessed to receive this honor and hope that I can make a difference in my school and community in the days ahead,” said Mabry.
Head of School Ryan Laster added, “We are very proud of Anna Claire and Cooper on being chosen to represent Canton Academy for the High School Heisman Scholarship Program. Both Anna Claire and Cooper excel in academics and athletics, and they are both great kids who will be sorely missed on campus next year.”
According to their website, “The Heisman Memorial Trophy is renowned for symbolizing the pursuit of excellence with integrity. The Heisman High School Scholarship extends the Heisman prestige to our nation’s most esteemed male and female high school seniors by recognizing and rewarding outstanding scholar-athletes who understand that the most important victories not only happen on the field, but in their schools and communities. These remarkable young leaders set the example and make a game-changing difference every day, paving the way to greatness for everyone around them.”
