Panther softball season begins

The Canton Academy Lady Panthers softball team defeated Sylva Bay Academy 15-14 in extra innings at home. The Panthers battled from behind in the last three innings to pull out the win. 

Trinity Craig, an eighth-grader, hit her first career home run and was met at the plate by her cheering teammates. 

“I was so excited and proud. It was great to see my teammates cheering for me as I ran home,” said Craig. 

The JV team was also victorious, 5-1.
