Rebel Ainsworth throws perfect game

The Tri County Academy Lady Rebels took on the Jackson Prep Patriots, the Magnolia Heights Academy Chiefs, and Simpson Academy Cougars in a tournament recently. The Rebels went 2-1, beating both Jackson Prep and Simpson, with the score 4-0 against the Patriots and 7-2 over the Cougars. 

Senior pitcher Anna Leigh Ainsworth threw a perfect game against Jackson Prep. It’s a rare feat in baseball or softball to pitch a “perfect game.” That happens when no opponent reaches base — not by a hit or a fielding error or a walk. Ainsworth also induced a groundout to end the game. 

The team fell short against Mag Heights with a score of 3-1. 

The Lady Rebels continued their season with another tournament at Bayou Academy on August 22.
