After shining at Canton Academy in various sports such as football, track and baseball, recent CA graduate EJ Luckett recently signed to play football at Harding University.
Head Football Coach Gage Posey said, “I don’t have enough good things to say about EJ. There’s not enough for me to say. He’s everything a coach wants to have and everything we preach to our players about what we want them to be.”
“Smith, Samuel, and Marcus Goodloe, these players are starting to get noticed and make it to the next level—this is just the start,” said Posey. “EJ is the reason a lot of schools are coming in here to see what Canton Academy has to offer.”
“We appreciate you, EJ - your effort and everything you’ve given us,” continued Posey. “We’re excited for you and ready to see what you do in the future.”
Luckett was recently inducted into the Canton Academy Sports Hall of fame and was a member of the State Championship winning football and track teams and the Panther baseball team. He has been named Farm Bureau’s Player of the Week and MSurance’s Player of the Week for football, and he was voted by his peers as “Most Athletic” at the 2023 Who’s Who program.
Luckett was surrounded by his teammates, coaches, teachers, and family as he signed his letter. Harding University is a private Christian institution of higher education committed to the tradition of the liberal arts and providing opportunities for a broad range of disciplines in undergraduate, graduate and professional programs.
