Congrats Kyle and Kohl Griffin

Kyle Griffin, a 2022 graduate of Germantown High School, was named to the University of Mississippi Spring 2023 Chancellor’s Honor Roll, which is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.75-4.00. “The remarkable students achieving Chancellor’s Honor roll are among the best and brightest at the University of Mississippi,” said Chancellor Glenn Boyce. “I commend them for their hard work and education resulting in their outstanding academic achievements and this well deserved recognition.” Kyle is majoring in Allied Health Studies and places to specialize in radiological sciences. He is completing an internship this summer, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Radiology with Dr. Candice Howard-Claudio, radiologist. 

Younger brother Kohl is a 2023 graduate of Germantown High School, where he served as Commanding Officer for 200 cadets in the Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers Training Corp (MJROTC). He was selected Top MJROTC Cadet of the Year at Germantown High School, and he was also recognized for that honor at the Annual Loyalty Day program at the VFW Post 9832 in Jackson. Kohl excelled physically in cross country, track, and as a member of the state champion JROTC physical fitness team. Kohl is an honored recipient of several scholarships. Among them is a $180,000 JROTC scholarship. His future goal is to pursue a military career. Kohl considered joining his brother at Ole Miss but opted instead to attend Louisiana State University and major in agriculture business. After earning his degree, he plans to commission as an officer in the Marine Corps. Kohl is not only highly motivated physically but also very focused academically, graduating with a 3.49 GPA. 

Kyle and Kohl are the sons of Kelvin Griffin and Dr. Yolanda Sims Griffin. Maternal grandparents are Mrs. Maggie Sims and the late Edwards Sims. Paternal grandparents are Larry Griffin and Dr. Pollia Griffin. Kyle and Kohl are active members of Old Truelight M.B. Church, pastored by Rev. Floyd Blackmon.
